Collection Partner vs. Speed

We know from experience, if your Hubbard Collection Partner software is taking hours to run a simple reports, then you're not happy. As a matter of fact, you're probably looking for a replacement software as you read this. Look, we've been through the same thing, we've seen the same softwares, most are slow, some are reeeeeeally slow. We can help you get Collection Partner to do what it was designed to do, give you quick access to the needed information, when you need it, not torrow.

We can also show you how to make your Collection Partner software stable, we've had servers running Collection Partner for over 3 years with little to no down time.
We can get those reports that used to takes hours, down to a few minutes.

We can do all this and not cause great harm to your budget.

Source of the problem?

The real source of Collection Partner problem is simply using the wrong server environment.

Novell
Yes, you can use Novell, heck, we like Novell, we're Novell Certified, have been so for over a decade. But, Novell is not the correct server for Collection Partner.

Windows 2000 2003 2008
Again, Windows 2003 and 2008 server are nice, but still the wrong OS for Collection Partner. Again, we've supported this OS family since it's inception. But, again, wrong OS for Collection Partner.

Both of these Operating Systems have the same problem when used with Collection Partner, the manner in which they handle data. Huge data objects are passed all over the network, which leads to a number of problems, bandwidth usage, data collisions, and data corruption. All of which lead to very, very slow response time and an endless amount of data file repair time.

The answer - Linux

Collection Partner was designed to use AcuCobol as it's database. Acucobol does have runtime engines for both Novell and Windows. Both of which are really DOS based. That's right DOS. Now the fact is most of you don't remember DOS, but DOS was never a multi user environment. It also is rather poor when it comes to database support.

Linux, now this has always been a multi-user environment, and supports AcuCobol. Acucobol runs much like SQL on Linux. When you submit a data request, you on'y receive the answer, which reduces bandwidth usage many, many times over. The effect, speed and reliability. That's right, we can have hundreds of users using Collection Partner, 20 hours a day and next to no data corruprtions. Combine that with a simple weekly self maintenance routine, which would take less than an hour a week. Collection Partner is litterally bullet proof, and has no down time.

Can my work stations work with Linux ?

Over the years we've setup litterally thousands of Windows work stations on Linux servers. Often when we're done, the Windows work stations actually believe their speaking to a Windows server.
As a matter of fact, we often see our most reliable Windows servers are actually Linux servers pretending to be Windows servers.
